BestStart Motutaiko Street (formally TopKids Motutaiko Street) is a purpose-built, quality childcare centre, located close to Taupo's town centre.

We have an excellent team of friendly, caring and dedicated teachers who are committed to providing quality care and education for all children in our centre. ERO has rated TopKids Motutaiko in the top 7% of NZ childcare centres providing positive learning outcomes for children.

Learning is encouraged through play and a fun-filled stimulating environment. This is provided through opportunities of having both planned and spontaneous activities where children 'learn by doing', as we engage in and set the environment for children's growth towards becoming independent learners. In combination with our unique Be School Ready initiative, we aim to set each child up for a lifelong love of learning.

We recognise that parents and whanau are children's first teachers. We place importance on creating open and positive relationships between parents and the centre to support the children's development. We offer twice yearly parent interviews where we discuss aspirations for the children and establish goals for their learning. Individual children's portfolios show evidence of how we value continuity of children's learning and their whanau contributions throughout their time with us. Parental involvement is always welcomed and we value our partnerships with whanau, both within the centre and on Storypark.
