Happy Holidays from CareforKids.co.nz
In a year of unprecedented challenges, when everything has changed, it is helpful to reflect on how lucky we are to be in Aotearoa, relatively safe from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic internationally.

To all of you in our community thinking about family overseas at this time of the year we wish you the very best and hope you find some joy, despite being separated from your loved ones.

This is our last newsletter for 2020 and we resume in February 2021, with this in mind we thought it might be helpful to do a brief recap of our achievements this year, to demonstrate what we have managed to get done, despite the significant disruptions caused by COVID-19.
  • We proudly showcased and celebrated the extraordinary efforts made by early childhood services to support families during the COVID-19 imposed lockdown which saw many of us trying to balance the competing challenges of work with home-schooling.
  • We redesigned our home page, consolidating our identity as the number one destination for families seeking care, and to improve access to our interactive tools and information resources.
  • We developed a dedicated hub of COVID-19 resources for all our community members, which was widely accessed and reinforced the message "we're all in this together."
  • We established a new partnership with ParentTV to deliver a series of parenting webinars for our Care Corporate clients.
While we're looking forward to another busy year in 2021, it is with some relief and a great deal of gratitude that we are putting down our tools for 2020 and looking forward to a break.

We wish all of you a happy and peaceful holiday and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Best wishes

How early learning educators help children prepare for school
Many children are moving from early childhood education (ECE) to big school at the start of next year, and although some will be excited about this prospect and others might be a little anxious, you can rest assured that quality early learning educators have lots of experience in helping under sixes transition to school.

Along with parents and whanau, educators teach preschoolers numerous skills that help to ensure a smooth start to their primary education, so let’s see how ECE sets youngsters up for school.
The Best STEM Toys for Christmas
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are all wrapped up in STEM learning, and although these subjects might sound a little serious for the festive season, your child will have stacks of fun with a STEM toy.

Live Science says that a quality STEM toy will keep your child’s attention as they, 'Build, play, experiment and build again – in an endless array of variations,' and along the way, they’ll develop skills that are valuable this Christmas and in all the years to come.
